ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate therapeutic efficacy and safety of Aidi injection combined with S-1 for advanced gastric cancer systematically, and to provide evidence-based reference. METHODS:Retrieved from CJFD,Wanfang database,VIP, CBM,Cochrane Library,PubMed and EMBase, randomized controlled trials(RCTs)about Aidi injection combined with S-1(tri-al group) vs. S-1 alone (control group) for advanced gastric cancer were collected. Meta-analysis was conducted by Rev Man 5.3 software after data extraction and quality evaluation by risk bias evaluation tool of Cochrane Handbook Version 5.1.0. RESULTS:A total of 8 RCT were included, involving 690 patients. Results of Meta-analysis showed that there was no statistical significance in therapeutic efficacy of solid tumor between 2 groups [OR=1.19,95%CI(0.88,1.61),P=0.26]. The improvement rate of survival quality[OR=3.62,95%CI(2.48,5.30),P<0.001],immunoglobulin level [CD3:SMD=1.31,95%CI(1.06,1.56),P<0.001;CD4:SMD=1.71,95%CI(1.38,2.04),P<0.001;CD8:SMD=-1.46,95%CI(-1.68,-1.23),P<0.001;CD4/CD8:SMD=1.45,95%CI(1.14,1.76),P<0.001] in trial group was significantly higher than control group. The incidence of leukopenia [RR=0.52,95%CI (0.40,0.68),P<0.001],thrombocytopenia [RR=0.49,95%CI(0.36,0.67),P<0.001] and gastrointestinal disorder [RR=0.56,95%CI(0.43,0.71),P<0.001] in trial group were significantly lower than control group, with statistical significance. CONCLUSIONS:Compared to S-1 alone,S-1 combined with Aidi injection can not significantly improve therapeutic efficacy of solid tumor therapy, but can improve survival quality and immunity of patients,as well as reduce the occurrence of ADR.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the clinical intervention effect of superficial needling at point Fenglong on gastroscopy side reaction. Methods Eighty-two gastroscopy patients were randomly allocated to treatment and control groups, 40 cases each. The treatment group received gastroscopy and superficial needling at point Fenglong, and the control group, gastroscopy and sham acupuncture at point Fenglong. The pain score and the incidence of nausea and vomiting were observed in the two groups during gastroscopy. Results There was a statistically significant difference in the pain score between the two groups (P<0.05). The incidence of nausea and vomiting was 31.7% in the treatment group and 65.9% in the control group; there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05).Conclusion Superficial needling at point Fenglong can effectively reduce the incidence of gastroscopy side reaction.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: It has become increasingly clear that immunotherapy with a specific aeroallergen extract is an effective treatment for allergic rhinitis. The fear of side reactions has led to strict regulation preventing a more widespread use of specific immunotherapy. The aim of this study is to investigate incidence of local and systemic side reactions in patients who received immunotherapy. SUBJECTS AND METHOD: Subjects were 139 patients with perennial allergic rhinitis. All patients with allergic rhinitis were diagnosed by history and positive allergic skin test or MAST. All patients received injections of Dermatophagoides farinae or cockroach extracts. Retrospective study was conducted to investigate the incidence of local and systemic side reactions. RESULTS: Ninety-nine patients (71.2%) experienced more than a side reaction. Eighty-seven patients (62.6%) experienced local side reactions and 41 patients (29.5%) experienced systemic reactions. The frequency of side reaction in each age group was different but not statistically significant. The side reactions were developed in 66.8% of patients during buildup phase and in 42.4% of patients during maintenance phase. All patients who experienced systemic reactions were recovered after appropriate managements. CONCLUSION: Immunotherapy is a relatively safe treatment for allergic rhinitis patients in spite of frequent reaction rate, because most of reactions are local reactions and patients with systemic reactions are treated completely.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To discuss the effect of Chinese materia medica on xerostomia of patients with head and neck tumor undergoing radiotherapy. Methods: 56 Cases of xerostomia of patients with head and neck tumor undergoing radiotherapy were treated with Chinese materia medica which had the effect of clearing heat and lowering pathogenic fire, nourishing yinn and promoting fluid production. I Month later, the evaluation of xerostomia was done. Results: The effective rate reached 46.4%,the improved rate was 44.6%,the total effective rate was 91.0%,and the ineffective rate was 9.0%。Conclusion: The Chinese materia medica with effect of clearing heat and lowering pathogenic fire, nourishing yinn and promoting fluid production can promote salivary secretion, relieve the dry mouth, improve the life quality.

ABSTRACT

0.05). There was no significant difference in radiation reaction and squeal between two groups. Conclusions The clinical results of LCAH radiotherapy may be improve the three year of local control rate than conventional CF in stage Ⅲ~Ⅳa but do not improve the survival rate of three years. The radiation reaction and sequela was similar,is worth further study.

ABSTRACT

There has been continued controversy as to the safety of egg-based MMR vaccine in egg-allergic children. Many studies have dealt with MMR administrations to egg-allergic patients focusing on the systemic side reactions. It has been found that most egg-allergic patients do not react to MMR vaccine but to other vaccine components. Therefore, most authors conclude that if an individual can eat eggs without ill effects, he or she can take the MMR vaccine without skin testing. In this regard, this study describes two cases of systemic side reactions after injection of MMR vaccine to egg-allergic patients. In a case with a history of systemic reaction from egg ingestion, it is still recommended that skin testing with the vaccine be carried out. If the skin test result shows positive, incremental doses of the vaccine in every 15-20 minutes are suggested.

ABSTRACT

Injectable Collagen Implan, is composed of purified bovine dermal collagen emulsified in saline and lidocaine(0.3%) base, and has been promoted for correction of soft tissue contour defects. Although collagen is a relatively nontoxic, nonimmunologic and biolegically nonreactive biomaterial, some side reactions have been reported. We report herein a case of cutaneous side reaction to collagen implantation in a 38-year-old female. The patient presented with puritic, irritating, multiple, erythematous nodules on both the temporal and interorbital area, which had been observed since 1 day after collagen(KOKEN ATELOCOLLA-GEN IMPLANT-Japan) implantation. Histopathologic findings showed dense infiltration of acute and chronic inflammatory cells in the dermis, especially the perivascular and periadnexal area.

ABSTRACT

Carbamazepine ( CBZ ) serum and salivary concentration and toxic and side reactions were studied in 60 epilepsy patients. The propriate CBZ serum concentration was l7~38?mol/L, salivary concentration was 4~13?mol/L. The toxic and side reactions were correlated with serum level, there were different toxic symptoms when CBZ levels were in therapeutic range. When CBZ serum concen tration was higher than 38~51 ?mol/L, salivary concentration was higher than 14.8~17 ?mol/L, the toxic and side reactions were significant increased in our test patients.
